Full Metal Kaiju Hunters Siberia Map Guide

Frozen battlefield pressure testing — Siberia rewards disciplined pilots who survived Hong Kong and Neo Tokyo.

Siberia Map Guide

Siberia is the map that separates pilots who learned the loop from pilots who actually understand threat management. Where Hong Kong teaches spacing and Neo Tokyo teaches combo discipline, Siberia teaches you that cold environments compress decision windows — every dodge, every block, every equipment call has to be tighter when the arena feels hostile. This page is the Siberia playbook for solo and small-coop pilots in the current v1.1b (Aug 2026) alpha.

Siberia pairs naturally with Getting Started for foundation work, Hong Kong Map Guide for the farm baseline, and Neo Tokyo Map Guide for the tighter spacing progression. When boss encounters surface here, route prep through How to Beat Bosses and the Kaiju Roster. For the broader progression context, see Maps and Missions.

Why Siberia matters in the rotation

The map gives you three things city maps do not:

  1. Environmental pressure. The frozen arena compresses how you read spacing — there is less visual noise, but threat telegraphs feel sharper.
  2. Mid-tier kaiju density. Otachi and Leatherback appear more frequently here than in Hong Kong or Neo Tokyo.
  3. A real test of equipment discipline. The open terrain means Air Strike windows are easier to read, but wasted charges punish harder.

That is why pilots who clear Siberia reliably report stronger performance on The Breach and Pacific Ocean. Kit reasoning lives in How to Unlock Jaegers and the Tier List.

Best Jaegers for Siberia

JaegerWhy it works hereWhen to swap out
Cherno AlphaHigh survivability in extended fights; Tesla Fist burst handles the open terrainSwitch when you want faster clears on easier maps
November Ajax (Enforcer / Tesla)Balanced toolkit for mixed kaiju densitySwap to Obsidian Fury for more aggression
Saber Athena (17+)Mobility shines when you need to reposition across open iceSwap to Midnight Winter for fast M1 pressure
Obsidian FuryStrong combat feel for pilots who have already learned combo disciplineSwitch to Apex only when perks are stacked

Bring the Jaeger whose perk stack you have actually invested. If your Mag Lock Anchors are empty, Siberia will punish displacement-heavy kaiju encounters.

Farm routes that actually work

Two routes carry most of the Siberia economy. The open terrain punishes improvisation more than city maps do, so do not invent a third before logging at least ten clean clears of the first two.

Route A — Central compound sweep

Start at the spawn, move through the central compound structures, then sweep outward to the perimeter. Pros: predictable kaiju spawn windows, clear equipment call lines. Cons: open ice sections can expose you to charge attacks from multiple directions.

Route B — Perimeter defense loop

Anchor on the outer structures, work inward in a defensive loop, then collapse back to the spawn for a reset. Pros: clear escape corridors when encounters go wrong. Cons: spawn RNG can leave you waiting between pull windows.

Pair either route with the Loadout Planner and write down your DNA/minute baseline after three clean runs.

Kaiju you will actually meet in Siberia

Otachi and Leatherback appear with higher frequency here than in city maps. Knifehead and Onibaba remain present but less dominant. Mega Kaiju and Slattern are rare but possible — treat any appearance as exam-room pressure. Per-role detail lives on the Kaiju Roster.

Equipment checklist for Siberia

  • Nuclear Air Strike — The open terrain makes long-expose stands easier to read. Hold for the clearest window.
  • Bunker Buster — Assign to grounded encounters when kaiju dig in near structures.
  • Strafing Runs — Lane damage across open ice on committed charge paths.
  • Attack Helicopter — Safe pressure while rebuilding spacing after a displacement.

Full equipment reasoning lives on Equipment Loadouts.

Perks that pay off in Siberia

  • Mag Lock Anchors — Save runs when a shove or grab displaces you on open ice.
  • Enhanced Stabilizers — Recovery after heavy trades in extended fights.
  • Titanium Ribbing — Endurance against chip-heavy kaiju like Leatherback.

Deep perk bias lives on Perks and Upgrades.

Common Siberia mistakes

  • Treating open terrain as a safety net — it actually compresses decision windows.
  • Farming Siberia with empty Mag Lock Anchors after Leatherback displacement punishes you.
  • Wasting Air Strikes on the opening roar and arriving empty for the real window.
  • Skipping the Workshop after a patch and discovering that the feel has shifted.

When to graduate out of Siberia

Graduate out when all three of these are true:

  1. Your DNA/minute baseline matches or beats your Prestige target.
  2. You can handle Otachi and Leatherback without panic equipment.
  3. You have not changed Jaegers or perks in the last 72 hours (stability test).

From here, the natural next step is BloxYork or Mega Tokyo for denser pack testing, then The Breach or Pacific Ocean for the exam stage. Full progression order is on Maps and Missions.

Patch day habits (Aug 2026)

If Tragic Works Discord mentions a 1.1b-era weapon or VFX change, do not assume Siberia feels the same. Skim the Discord post, spend five minutes in the Workshop, run one short Siberia clear to confirm feel, and only then commit to a longer Prestige session.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Siberia harder than Hong Kong or Neo Tokyo?

Yes. The open frozen terrain compresses decision windows and Otachi and Leatherback appear more frequently. Treat it as a pressure test after mastering city maps.

Which Jaeger should I bring to Siberia?

Use the Jaeger with the strongest perk stack you already own. Cherno Alpha, November Ajax, and Saber Athena all handle open terrain well.

How is Siberia different from city maps?

Hong Kong and Neo Tokyo have visual noise and narrow alleys. Siberia is open ice with sharper threat telegraphs but fewer escape options.

When should I move past Siberia?

When DNA/minute matches your Prestige baseline, Otachi and Leatherback encounters feel manageable, and your kit has been stable for 72 hours.
