Kaiju Roster

This Kaiju Roster is the hangar-side encyclopedia for the monsters you fight in Full Metal Kaiju Hunters — not the Jaegers you pilot. Use it when Discord chat drops a name (Otachi, Leatherback, Slattern, Mega Kaiju, Knifehead, Onibaba) and you need a role card before you burn Prestige or equipment charges. Pair it with How to Beat Bosses, Badges and Milestones, and the Jaeger Roster so threat and machine planning stay on the same page.

Full Metal Kaiju Hunters is still early alpha (~v1.0b) by Jordans_Tragedy. Hitboxes, telegraphs, and spawn theaters can shift after Tragic Works Discord notes. Treat the roles below as stable jobs each kaiju asks of your hands — verify feel in the Workshop and a city warm-up after every patch.

How to use this roster

  1. Identify the named threat for today’s session.
  2. Read the role card and the linked badge or pattern guide.
  3. Bind a kit in the Loadout Planner.
  4. Warm up on Hong Kong or Neo Tokyo, then take the exam.
  5. Log one wipe note; change only one variable on the next attempt.

There are no promo codes that skip kaiju exams — see Codes. Power comes from DNA, Prestige, perks, and pattern literacy.

Public Rolimon-style trackers currently emphasize Otachi, Leatherback, Mega Kaiju, and Slattern badge rows. Knifehead and Onibaba remain critical prep bosses even when a dedicated badge percentage is not cited — do not invent win rates for rows that do not exist yet.

Knifehead — tunnel-vision filter

Job: Punish pilots who stare at the head hitbox while positioning collapses.

Knifehead is where many accounts learn that “aim harder” is not a plan. Keep lateral movement alive. Use short weapon bursts (Tesla Fist or Enforcer), step out, re-engage. Strafing Runs shine when Knifehead commits through a lane you already predicted. Flame Turbine helps if the path is readable and you pre-drop the zone.

Perk bias: Enhanced Stabilizers for recovery after heavy trades; Mag Lock Anchors if shove-style displacement shows up on your build.

Common fail: Standing still to “aim better” during an obvious charge path.

Deep guide: Knifehead and Onibaba.

Onibaba — pattern homework

Job: Force note-taking. Hunters who write the kill telegraph beat hunters who rely on vibe.

Onibaba rewards clean M1 strings and strike timing from Equipment Loadouts. After each wipe, name the attack that ended the run in plain language. Bunker Buster and Nuclear Air Strike belong to named tells — assign them before you spawn, not during panic.

Perk bias: Titanium Ribbing if limb chip ends runs early; Stabilizers if recovery windows feel tight.

Common fail: Repeating the same greedy melee string after it already failed twice.

Deep guide: Knifehead and Onibaba.

Otachi — mobility and grab exam

Job: Filter autopilot melee with reach, grabs, and shove displacement.

Otachi is the first serious badge wall for many pilots. Public tracker snapshots sit near ~4.1% win rate and ~4,569 awarded — treat that as a population filter, not destiny. Fight sideways more than backward. Mag Lock Anchors earn their slot when a misread would throw you into clutter.

Plan sketch: Safe weapon chips → hold Air Strike / Bunker Buster for a real plant window → re-center after every big movement ability.

Deep guide: Defeat Otachi Badge. General patterns also live under How to Beat Bosses.

Leatherback — discipline and body checks

Job: Punish mash-as-trash habits with body-check pressure and shove windows.

Leatherback tracker snapshots sit near ~3.3% win rate and ~37,829 awarded. Titanium Ribbing and Mag Lock Anchors matter when trades shove you out of the punish lane. Establish Enforcer or Flame Turbine rhythm at mid range; keep Attack Helicopter or Strafing Runs for reposition windows; burst only when aggression clearly ends.

Common fail: Dumping bombers on the opening roar and arriving empty for the real window.

Deep guide: Defeat Leatherback Badge.

Mega Kaiju — headline phase wall

Job: Test whether you can assign equipment to phases instead of hoping for a cinematic finish.

Mega Kaiju snapshots sit near ~3.2% win rate and ~9,511 awarded. Mentally split the fight into open, mid pressure, and late panic. Assign one tool to each phase before spawn. Bring the Jaeger you know — Cherno Alpha for committed reads, November Ajax for practice stability, Obsidian Fury for aggression you can afford, Saber Athena / Apex / Midnight Winter only when equipment sequencing is already second nature.

Deep guide: Defeat Mega Kaiju Badge.

Slattern — Category 5 endurance

Job: Attrition exam. Your DNA farm quality and Prestige honesty show up here.

Slattern snapshots sit near ~1.7% win rate and ~49,868 awarded — lower win rate, higher awarded count because more hunters have attempted it over time. Set a rotation (weapon pressure, dodge, optional strafe, repeat) and refuse highlight improvisation. Prestige (~5% permanent stats for roughly 5000 coins) shortens each cycle more here than on early bosses.

Deep guide: Defeat Slattern Badge. Coordinate calls via Discord Community and Co-op Team Hunts when silence wastes overlapping Air Strikes.

Equipment cheat-sheet versus kaiju jobs

ToolTypical kaiju job
Nuclear Air StrikePunish long exposed stands (Otachi plant, Mega phase spikes)
Bunker BusterStubborn grounded / armor-feeling windows
B2 / B1 bombersRotation control when the fight forces movement
Attack HelicopterSafe pressure while rebuilding spacing
Strafing RunsLane damage on committed charge paths (Knifehead)

Weapons (Tesla Fist, Enforcer, Flame Turbine) are identity choices — pick one plan and stop mid-fight tinkering. Deep weapon feel lives in Jaeger Weapons.

Perks that repeatedly matter

  • Mag Lock Anchors — Otachi grabs, Leatherback shoves, any displacement spam.
  • Titanium Ribbing — Leatherback trades and chip-heavy endurance.
  • Enhanced Stabilizers — Recovery after heavy hits on Slattern and Mega Kaiju.

Details: Perks and Upgrades.

Maps where these names show up

Kaiju discussions usually reference Hong Kong, Neo Tokyo, Siberia, The Breach, BloxYork, Mega Tokyo, Australia, Pacific Ocean, Prologue, and Workshop. Place jobs live on Maps and Missions. Do not AFK-farm The Breach for DNA because a boss name sounds advanced — farm cities, then exam.

Jaeger pairing notes (not tier dogma)

  • Cherno Alpha — Stable punish machine for Otachi / Leatherback consistency once Prestige lands.
  • November Ajax — Practice frame for Knifehead / Onibaba homework without Apex FOMO.
  • Obsidian Fury — Aggression when you can re-enter after dodges.
  • Saber Athena / Apex / Midnight Winter — High-ceiling kits for Mega Kaiju and Slattern when sequencing is clean.

Rankings: Best Jaegers and Tier List. Unlocks: How to Unlock Jaegers.

Suggested climb (Aug 2026)

  1. Knifehead / Onibaba pattern homework.
  2. Otachi badge mobility filter.
  3. Leatherback discipline bridge.
  4. Mega Kaiju phase planning.
  5. Slattern endurance commitment.

Skip steps only if your wipe notes prove the skipped exam is already solved — not because a thumbnail looked cooler.
